A Think Tank to promote a common understanding among all Sri Lankans

Protect Sri Lanka consists of a Group of  Professionals, who are renowned for their unwavering commitment to preserve the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Sri Lanka and protect the interests of the Nation. The Board of Management  of Protect Sri Lanka includes among  persons in the caliber of Mr. H L de Silva President’s Counsel, Professor  G.H. Peiris, Mr. Gomin Dayasri Attorney-at-Law, Mr. Neville Laduwahetty, Major General Lalin Fernando (Retired), Mr. Hope Todd and Mrs.P. T. Hussan.       

Protect Sri Lanka is a Think Tank to promote a common understanding among all Sri Lankans on the role of foreign intervention and its threat to Peace, Human Rights in its proper perspective, Development and National Unity as well as to safeguard the sovereignty, prevent secession and preserve the territorial integrity of Sri Lanka.  

Protect Sri Lanka intends to share experiences and lessons from countries which have undergone violence and conflict situations similar to Sri Lanka, where interventions, contrary to ceasing hostilities and eliminating terrorism have led to the deterioration and fragmentation of the relevant countries. Protect Sri Lanka strives to influence the general public to promote a free and just society where the rights of all communities are protected and safeguarded.

Our Goal:
To promote a common understanding among all Sri Lankans on the role of foreign interventions and its threat to peace, development and national unity; and to safeguard the sovereignty, prevent secession and preserve the territorial integrity of Sri Lanka.  

Our Mission:
To share experiences and lessons from countries which have undergone violence and conflict situations similar to Sri Lanka, where interventions, contrary to ceasing hostilities and eliminating terrorism have led to the deterioration and fragmentation of the relevant country. To illuminate the path to a free and just society where the rights of all communities are protected and safeguarded.

Our Commitments:
  • Advocate national unity, democracy, good governance and human rights in Sri Lanka so that all ethnic communities are free to participate in decision making but could do so within the context of a secure and unitary State which is free of violence and terrorism and which is empowered and protected from intervention.

  • To promote respect for the human rights of all communities through advocacy to strengthen the judiciary, law enforcement systems and methods of governance, maintaining transparency at all times.

  • To promote collective action by all Sri Lankans against foreign intervention as a common endeavour to prevent further deterioration of security, and fragmentation of the country, due to the multiple threats of terrorism, violence and intervention.

Our Plans:
  • Share information and analysis of countries similar to Sri Lanka, which have undergone prolonged terrorism and violence, and where intervention has been introduced in various forms and degrees.

  • Assess and determine the root causes of the Sri Lankan conflict and share such knowledge, with power sharing and democratic structures, as well as with the general public in a participatory manner.

  • Support and strengthen national structures and systems necessary to promote good governance, judicial processes and effective law enforcement which are essential to preserve the rights of all communities.  
  • Protect Sri Lanka from multinational and foreign influences which support terrorism in an overt or covert manner, and thereby protect the human rights of all citizens irrespective of discrimination. 

  • Protect Sri Lanka’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, national unity at all times and thereby promote peace.
